These are the vehicles that get imaginations going, and provide the dreams that accompany little boys through to adulthood and on to owning their own big truck. We all marvel at the size and power of these vehicles as they effortlessly cruise down the highways. It is understandable that truck drivers aspire to work in these jobs from the time they enter their training at their truck driving school. Most drivers today search online for all current jobs. There are many local jobs for truck drivers that take the freshly licensed students from the teaching schools. Many of these are just 18 years of age. Sometimes this is increased to 23 and even 25 years, depending on the policy and insurance requirements of each individual carrier. Many young truck driver's first job will be as an apprentice driver to one of the large national carriers. Here they will spend all their time with an experienced driver until they gain enough confidence and experience to handle the trucks themselves.
